waftured asked: Hi Carly! I know you answer this question all the time and i looked for it but i couldn't find anything so would you mind telling me what type of Hunter boots are you prefer? Thanks Bunches!

I have the black original!

kellzyeah asked: hey carly! im a 5'11 girl and have always had trouble finding a good pair of jeans. i know youre a coxswain so want to help a rower out on more time and give me some suggestions? thanks!!

Finding jeans is so hard… no matter what size you are!! J. Crew makes jeans in “tall.” Gap and LOFT does as well!

prncssk92 asked: Do you know where I can find a long sleeve or 3/4 length sleeve chevron dress? I see people have them and I want one but can't find one online anywhere?!

This is long-sleeved, but it’s still super cute! And here is a bigger chevron.

sequinsandpeonies asked: Hey Carly! I am having a huge problem with riding boots. I want a cognac/dark brown color that does not have too many embellishments and is an equestrian type style boot. Any suggestions? Hope you have a great day!

livesmilelove asked: Where can I find really cute hairbows... I have a few from out of the country but I need to find some either online or in some stores. Thanks!

Etsy is the perfect place to start!

brwneyedgirl asked: Hey Carly! I live right outside of DC in Virginia, and was wondering what your favorite places are in Georgetown, because I'm never home!? Thanks!

Here’s a guest post I wrote with my favorite places!

reachyourpeak asked: Hey! Could you give preppy suggestions for those of us on a budget? I wish I could afford JCrew, Vineyard Vines, etc. but I am a grad student on a tight budget :( Thanks!

Old Navy actually has a ton of great clothes that look very J. Crew!

devialuna asked: Hi Carly! Next year I will be moving from Texas to either Boston or NYC for college. Since you moved from Florida to D.C., then NYC, I figured you could answer this question: what are some basic winter clothing essentials I should start stocking up on? My wardrobe is 90% warm weather at the moment. Thanks :)

Pants and sweaters… but I would recommend waiting. Instead of buying things now, I would simply save money in a “wardrobe fund” or something. I bought a bunch of things before I moved thinking they would work and it turned out that they weren’t warm enough or weren’t really as stylish as I had thought. It’s so much better to build your wardrobe on a “as needed” basis.
