livesmilelove asked: Where can I find really cute hairbows... I have a few from out of the country but I need to find some either online or in some stores. Thanks!

Etsy is the perfect place to start!

brwneyedgirl asked: Hey Carly! I live right outside of DC in Virginia, and was wondering what your favorite places are in Georgetown, because I'm never home!? Thanks!

Here’s a guest post I wrote with my favorite places!

reachyourpeak asked: Hey! Could you give preppy suggestions for those of us on a budget? I wish I could afford JCrew, Vineyard Vines, etc. but I am a grad student on a tight budget :( Thanks!

Old Navy actually has a ton of great clothes that look very J. Crew!

devialuna asked: Hi Carly! Next year I will be moving from Texas to either Boston or NYC for college. Since you moved from Florida to D.C., then NYC, I figured you could answer this question: what are some basic winter clothing essentials I should start stocking up on? My wardrobe is 90% warm weather at the moment. Thanks :)

Pants and sweaters… but I would recommend waiting. Instead of buying things now, I would simply save money in a “wardrobe fund” or something. I bought a bunch of things before I moved thinking they would work and it turned out that they weren’t warm enough or weren’t really as stylish as I had thought. It’s so much better to build your wardrobe on a “as needed” basis.

moon-light-on-my-floor asked: Hey Carly! I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of a nice pair of black leggings. I have a pair already, but I think they might be too thin and may show a bit too much skin if I move just the right way. I was looking for a thicker pair that I could wear without fear of this happening. Thanks so much!

Ann Taylor LOFT leggings are the best. Absolutely the best. These are the regular style (50% off when you use “Save50” at checkout). But if you want an even thicker version, the ponte pant is great too!

flprep asked: I am looking to buy my sister a scarf for Christmas. Do you have any ideas of where to get a cute, warm one that is under $50?

I’m so sorry it took so long to answer! But if you’re still looking for a scarf…

Target, Gap, Gap, Gap, Old Navy

sarahaxon asked: What's on your Christmas list this year? Last year Santa brought me some Bean Boots after your great recommendations :)

I actually didn’t ask for anything this year! I seriously had such a wonderful year and my family came up to NYC… so that was enough! (I did get an amazing pair of ballet flats and a couple of pillows and blankets for Hanukkah though!)

inlovewiththesouth asked: Hey Carly! I have a ball coming up and need to find a dress asap. It needs to be relatively nice. If it can't be any shorter than 1" above my knee and I am having trouble finding one. Any ideas on where to look?

This dress looks long enough!
