forthetrees asked: Hey Carly, I hope you're finding New York City to your liking. It's such a great place. I've been going to school here for almost four years. My freshman year I bought a wool coat with toggles that does not fit quite right and has definitely seen better days. Before it gets too cold I would like to get a nice, substantially warm wool coat, probably in navy or grey. Where would you recommend for finding one that looks nice but will actually keep me warm in frigid NYC winters?

Even though they’re a bit on the expensive side, the J. Crew peacoats are great. I’ve had my black one since my senior year of high school. I send it to the dry cleaners right before winter, maybe two or three times during the winter, and right before it goes back in storage. And it’s still holding up!
